Well, I don't do stockings ... in the past I have given huge stockings stuffed with presents to George, Irini, my nieces and Christian my godson. But this is not a tradition. She’s the one that deserves it, but is the first to say ‘You shouldn’t have!’ I don’t think she really likes receiving gifts, so it has to be something that she can’t say ‘no’ to. Over the years I’ve come up with some very peculiar gifts … some handmade, so as simple as a beautifully framed picture, some practical like a ladder … or a few knickknacks from Cook Shop. This year, I was out in Maroussi, when I saw these beautiful angel ornaments and I KNEW that this was it!!! I was relieved that I had found mom’s present so early!<br /> Acquiring them was a different story … due to heavy workload and other obligations; I wasn’t able to go shopping until Saturday 23rd, so my first stop of many was for Mom’s gift. Having done that, I continued for another two hours, finally coming home. In the afternoon, I decided to wrap most of the presents. To my dismay, the bag with mom’s present was MISSING!! What a disaster!! So, what to do?<br /> The next day, I decided to go back to the same shop … 45 minutes to get there, 1.5 hours to return, to get the SAME present again. Once I had rebought the two angels I held on to them well!!! The funny thing, the strange thing, the most peculiar thing was that during the bus ride back [ had to change 3 buses] I found a forgotten package … I thought that this was a sign, I lost a package, and in my will to rebuy it I also found another package. <br /> Everyone was so surprised, and I placed the gift under the tree to be opened on the 25th … and we adults were the most curious about that package!!! George, Irini and I along with another couple went to such a club on Christmas eve ... the journalling says:</p><blockquote></blockquote><p> We spent Christmas Eve this year at a popular night club called: Akti. So dinner was not the highlight! Music, laughs, flowers, a bottle of Baileys and Whisky, some nuts, fruit and a cheese dish was on the menu!!! Not very traditional but lots of fun!!<br /> The traditional meal was the next day … Mom overdid it again this year. Lots of food: sweet pumpkin pie, meat and potatoes, spaghetti, cheese and spinach pies, tzatziki, Russian salad, bread … everyone was licking their fingers. I've been blessed with Happy Christmases so I've decided to go a different route. I've spend half my Christmases in one country - Canada and the other half in Greece ... so to illustrate this I've used opposite colours. I've placed the blue paper with Canada and the red with Greece. I've hidden my journalling underneath ... in bullet form some of the fondest memories of each country ... Today I left home at 9 am and returned 10 pm. So, I thought I'd share how I managed it.<br /><br />1. My camera was with me, so I took pictures of anything that caught my fancy.<br />2. I had printed off the prompt and had it with me.<br />3. I had a pad and pen ... and actually 15 minutes of ALONE time ... in that time I did the journalling ... and as I was writing I took THE photo!!!<br />4.
